Book Talk – Kensington Town Hall
November 12, 2019 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
On Tuesday, November 12, I’ll give an illustrated book talk to the Kensington Historical Society in the Town Hall, lower level, 3710 Mitchell St., Kensington, MD 20895. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. and the talk will start at 7:30. This is special venue at any time, but especially on the evening after Veterans Day. The red brick Town Hall is the former Maryland National Guard Armory. On February 3, 1941, the unit that drilled there, the anti-tank platoon of the 115th Infantry Regiment, was federalized by FDR. In October 1942 they sailed for England with the rest of the 29th Infantry Division aboard RMS Queen Elizabeth. On D-Day, the 115th Infantry landed on Omaha Beach in a follow-on wave.
